Why do hair companies do this?

Why do hair companies continue to put mineral oil and petroleum in black hair care products even though EVERYONE knows that its bad for your hair and does nothing but cause breakage and prevents moisture from the hair shaft? Why arent there more black women helping in creating hair care lines? There are several black hair stylist so youd figure more people would help to make black hair products that are good for your hair.
