What's the difference between synthetic THC drugs K2 and Marinol?

The chemicals in K2/Spice mimic THC and have the pretty much the same effects as Marinol. I've heard most marijuana users do not prefer either drug because of the side effects, paranoia and vomiting and including a small number of extreme cases where hallucinations and seizures occurred among users.
